See the factory before you commit to a container.

You are buying from a factory you have not stood inside, in a country you may not have visited, from a company you have not met. We go and look, and we write down what is there.

Shortlist
Makers matched to your written specification, each one spoken to and confirmed able to produce it.
The visit
Each shortlisted maker visited in person, on a stated date, against the eight checks below.
The report
Written, with dated photographs, and a plain verdict on each maker. Delivery date confirmed with the scope.
Samples
Drawn from live production and couriered to you, with the courier cost shown separately at actuals.

What we check, every time.

The same eight checks on every visit, which is what makes one report comparable to the next.

  1. 01

    Licence against invoice

The licence on the wall, read and photographed, and the name on it matched to the company that would invoice you.

  2. 02

    The line, running

Production observed on the day of the visit, not a showroom or an idle hall.

  3. 03

    Storage and handling

Floor, stacking, pest control and temperature in the raw material and finished goods areas.

  4. 04

    The packing area

How the product is packed, and who handles it between the line and the carton.

  5. 05

    Capacity, claimed against visible

The output the maker claims, set against the facility you can actually see.

  6. 06

    Samples from live stock

Drawn from current production, never from the sample cupboard in the office.

  7. 07

    Photographs, dated

Every area above, photographed with the date of the visit recorded.

  8. 08

    Export history

Where the maker's recent shipments went, and the documents they moved on.

The fee.

Flat, paid in advance, and credited in full against commission if you place the order through us.

What the report does not do.

An inspection records what was observed, on the stated date, against the specification you supplied. It is not a guarantee of a future consignment, not a laboratory analysis, and not a certification. Where something could not be seen or verified, the report says so rather than passing over it.
