India is always considered as Green Economy and in this world of green, farmers and farming comes as the Protagonist. Unfortunately they are the most neglected society of this democratic country. To improve the position of those who had been instrumental in the making of India as an Agricultural Hub, introduction of reforms and laws and regulations had taken place, among all the efforts Platform for Online Ordering And Rural transformation Of India which stands for POORTI comes into the sight. Lack of efficiency creeping inside the farmers can be said mainly due to the lack of appropriate resources with them, getting undesired quality at high prices due to unavailability of the ordered stock, formation of a rift between a dealer and the farmer can create clouds of doubts and a sense of distrust into their minds.
Considering all the problems and hardships a farmer goes through, POORTI has been made to address it keeping in mind the satisfaction quotient of a farmer at the prime position. The platform provides a sense of trust and transparency in the operations that take place, monetary problems along with quality standard maintenance has been also looked after and most importantly the problem of convenience regarding the autonomy of choosing between variety of dealers, variety of seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and also in the selection of quantity at that particular period time.
POORTI has already made progress in the work field by signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Union Bank Of India. UBI is actively working with POORTI and is considered as their partner to progress. They had already held a meeting with UBI at Jayapur, Uttar Pradesh on 20th May, 2017 to have a brief discussion regarding the progress and status of the operation.
